Abstract |
Visits were made to the facilities of 21 domestic television manufacturers and one retailer of foreign receivers to measure x-radiation emissions from television receivers considered typical of those being marketed since the effective date of the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968. The test data obtained during these visits provided basic information on the capability of the receivers to emit x-radiation under certain operating conditions, including various adjustments to the receivers that could result in x-radiation emission under conditions expected to be found during home use. The information was used in the development of the performance standard for television receivers and also in the development of recommendations for future programs of compliance testing under the performance standard.
