Abstract |
The effects of water quality upon the fish and wildlife resources of the Lake Ontario Basin are reported as part of the Great Lakes-Illinois River Basin Comprehensive Study. Lake Ontario is described with regard to morphometry, thermal conditions, light penetration and transparency, currents, chemical characteristics, plankton, and benthic organisms. Further consideration is given to fishery and wildlife base and management, economic factors, management, water quality trends, and environmental research requirements. An extensive bibliography is included. |
