Abstract |
The volume is a collection of papers dealing with a variety of topical areas associated with the study of the effects of acidic deposition on watersheds and water resources. Because the volume was published in 1983, most of the research that contributed to these papers was conducted in the early 1980s and thus is somewhat dated. For the reason, the volume is not useful as an index to the current state of the art in the topical fields presented. Its principal utility lies in presenting some interesting data from early phases of continuing projects (e.g. the Shenandoah Watershed Acidification Study by Shaffer and Galloway) and in providing a historical snapshot of some avenues of research early in the study of 'acid rain' in the United States. |
