Abstract |
A regional economic model for the assessment of the effects of air pollution abatement has been developed and demonstrated. This model is operational and policy oriented and attempts to describe the economic system-wide effects specific air pollution strategies in 91 major metropolitan areas in the United States. This phase of the model utilization effort has been structured into a set of four tasks which encompassed the following areas: Implementation strategies: approach and specification; Control costs and economic projections; Economic effects of selected strategies; Application to water pollution and solid waste dispoal; and Remarks and recommendations. The application of the model to water pollution and solid waste disposal is discussed and a bibliography presented. (Author) |
