Abstract | The decision document presents the selected remedial action for the American Anodco site, in Ionia, Michigan. EPA has determined that conditions at the site due to contamination by inorganic chemicals pose no current or potential threat to human health or the environment. While the American Anodco site does appear to exhibit trace amounts of inorganic contamination which result in slightly elevated calculations of potential future risk from exposure to the groundwater, EPA has also determined that the presence of these compounds does not appear to pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment since the levels are below Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs). Accordingly, no further remedial action will be undertaken. However, monitoring of the inorganic contaminants in the groundwater will continue for a period of twenty-four months. |
