Abstract | The Verona Well Field site consists of a well field, three contaminant sources, and the ground water between the source areas and the well field in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan. Surrounding land use is mixed residential and industrial. The site overlies a surficial glacial aquifer and a deeper bedrock aquifer, both of which are local sources of drinking water. A 1985 Record of Decision (ROD) addressed remediation of soil and ground water at the TSRR facility, and provided for treatment of contaminated soil using vapor extraction with off-gas treatment, and pumping and treatment of contaminated ground water. The ROD addresses the second and final operable unit for soil and ground water contamination at the site. |
