Abstract |
The Clean Air Act Amendments of 1977 require each State in which there is an ozone nonattainment area to adopt and submit a revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) that meets the requirements of Section 110 and Part D of the Act. The SIP must contain volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations that reflect the application of Reasonably Available Control Technology to stationary sources for which Control Technique Guidelines (CTGs) published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) apply. This document summarizes the VOC regulations States have adopted that apply RACT to 29 industrial source categories for which EPA has published CTGs. In some cases, States have developed regulations for stationary sources where CTGs do not apply. These regulations also have been summarized. In most cases, the State regulations summarized are current as of August 1, 1984. There are, however, some regulations included in the State summaries, such as some of the VOC regulations for California, that are current as of January 1, 1985. |
