Abstract | A state-of-the-art review was prepared covering analysis of organics in drinking water and surface waters and in waters from industrial, municipal, and energy sources. The areas reviewed included: (1) sampling, (2) techniques for component isolation and/or concentration, (3) extract fractionation, (4) chemical derivatization, (5) gas chromatography, (6) gas chromatography/mass spectrometry/computer techniques, and (7) quality control/quality assurance. The initial review was considered a prerequisite for experimental development of the EPA's Master Analytical Scheme for organics in water. It has been updated to include the appropriate literature through June 1982. |
