Abstract |
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is providing background information that supports the use of Metro Machine Corporation's (MMC) compliant all position enclosure (CAPE) plus air management system and regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO)(CAPE + RTO System) as an alternative means of limiting the emissions of volatile organic hazardous air pollutants per volume of applied solids (nonvolatiles). This document also explains how the authors arrived at the operating, recordkeeping, and reporting conditions that MMC must meet for approval. The add-on control system they used consists of a pollution capture unit operation (CAPE) plus air management system and a destruction unit operation (RTO). When operated according to the specified procedures, it will control emissions to a level no greater than that from using coatings which comply with the limits in Table 2 of 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart II. |
