Abstract | A dynamic headspace procedure developed for the determination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water is described. The VOCs are purged from a water sample with an inert gas, transferring them to a tube packed with Tenax adsorbent. The adsorbent tube, or trap, is thermally desorbed, the analytes cryofocused, and subsequently transferred to a capillary column gas chromatograph. |
