Abstract |
This report presents the results of a regional assessment of environmental policy and technological options for achieving energy and environmental goals in the Midwest. Policy options considered include alternative air quality goals--altered emission limits and delay of compliance schedules. Technological options analyzed include transport of Western low sulfur coal and utilization by Midwestern utilities, adoption of supplementary control systems for electric utilities, and use of stack gas scrubbers. The study analyzed these options in light of their economic and environmental effects. |
