The Office of Inspector General (OIG) statutory mission is to conduct and supervise audits, evaluations, inspections, and investigations relating to the programs and operations of the Agency; to provide leadership and coordination, and recommend policies for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of Agency programs and operations; to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in Agency programs and operations; and to keep the Administrator and Congress fully and currently informed about problems and deficiencies relating to the administration of Agency programs and operations, and the necessity for and progress of corrective action. This OIG Annual Plan identifies mandated and selected assignment topics continuing from fiscal year (FY) 2011 and scheduled to be started during FY 2012, providing for unforeseen work that may be requested by hotline complaints, Agency leadership, and Congress. |
