Abstract | The mutagenicity of triethanolamine 99 was evaluated in Salmonella tester strains TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537, and TA15388 (Ames Test), both in the presence and absence of added metabolic activation from Aroclor-induced rat liver S9 fraction. The material was tested for mutagenicity at concentrations of 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, and 100 mg/plate using the direct plate incorporation method. Triethanolamine 99 did not cause a reproducible positive response in any of the tester strains, either in the presence or absence of added metabolic activation. |
