Abstract |
Intercorrelations among county mortality rates for about 50 causes of death were investigated for white males (WM) and white females (WF) for the 5-year period between 1968 and 1972. All possible pairwise correlations (1128 for WM and 1275 for WF) were calculated; those correlations significant at the p<0001 level are listed. The geographic variations of the 20 strongest correlations for each sex are also listed. Most of the strongest correlations involve diseases that are closely associated with urban or rural factors. |
