Abstract | Summary reports on toxicity tests of diphenyl ether indicate that it is not toxic to guinea pigs when applied as a saturated water solution, a 5% or 10% ethyl alcohol solution, or as 10% solution in Stoddard's solvent. Concentrations of 1, 5, and 10% in Stoddard's solvent applied daily for 1 week produced necrosis, while other solutions were non-irritating. Oral administration of 2.11 g/kg bw fed daily for 1 week produced no toxic effects in a dog. |
