Abstract |
The results of three samples taken to detect airborne asbestos show that under the worst normal conditions, no risk from asbestos exists at COFRC. Two samples were taken underneath a steam pipe that had loose asbestos hanging from it. These samples contained 0.01 and 0.002 fibers per cubic centimeter of air. The third sample was taken while dusting off similar asbestos insulated pipes in a basement office. This sample contained 0.017 fibers/cc. Cal OSHA and Fed OSHA considers 2 fibers/cc to be safe. |
