Abstract |
The paper gives interim results from an EPA (Air and Energy Engineering Research Laboratory) investigation of cleaning needs and pollution prevention options for the coated and laminated substrate manufacturing industry, the No. 1 source of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and the No. 3 source of toluene in EPA's Toxics Release Inventory System. Equipment cleaning, the source of a significant portion of these emissions, has not been an industry focus. Promising pollution prevention techniques will be demonstrated. |
