At the request of the City of Spartanburg and the South Carolina State Board of Health, an appraisal of factors relating to the air pollution problem in Spartanburg, South Carolina, was undertaken by the Division of Air Pollution of the Public Health Service. The purpose of this appraisal was to determine the general nature and extent of the air pollution problem and to develop general recommendations for activities to meet present and future air pollution problems in Spartanburg. This report is based on data obtained from existing information, brief inspection visits, and a seven-day continuous air sampling study. (Author Modified Abstract) |
