Abstract |
Pollution problems and solutions in two geographic areas--the Denver Metropolitan Area and the Middle and Lower Basin of the South Platte River and its major tributaries from Brighton to the Colorado-Nebraska border--are discussed. In the Denver area, information is presented on the sources of pollution and the effects of these waste loads on the area's streams, and recommendations for pollution abatement are given. The second section discusses Barr Lake pollution problems, wastes from feedlot operations within the basin, and waste discharges from beet sugar mills. Recommendations to deal with these problems are presented. |
