Abstract
The Field Certification Tracking System (FCTS) is a computer program designed to automate the tracking of certification training. Each employee has a training category which specifies what training elements need to be accomplished in order to maintain field certification. Each category contains a variable number of requirements. Each requirement within a category can be very flexible in the amount and frequency of training required. It can cover a wide variety from first aid training yearly to urinalysis quarterly. Because of the flexibility of the requirements, FCTS can be used for most any industry although it was designed by the EPA for the hazardous waste industry. In addition to tracking training requirements, FCTS will provide the user with several useful reports. It can list employees and needed training, or employees and projected needs for training in order to maintain certification. The reports can be useful management tools to maintain up to date training on all employees.
