Abstract | This Policy establishes the approach agreed upon by the Department of Energy (DOS) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the conduct of decommissioning projects consistent with CERCLA requirements. The principal objectives of this Policy are to ensure that decommissioning activities are protective of worker and public health and the environment, consistent with CERCLA and, where applicable, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), ensure stakeholder involvement, and achieve risk reduction without unnecessary delay. |
