Abstract |
An evaluation of septic leachate detection (SLD) technology was performed. The results indicated that the conceptual basis of SLD devices is unproven and the devices have not been evaluated properly to determine their utility as a screening device in facility planning for rural lakeshore communities. Even if the issue is neglected, the cost-effectiveness of SLD surveys is marginal. |
