Abstract |
Results of recent laboratory experiments concerned with the entrainment and deposition of sediments in lakes are reported. From these experiments and other recent work, quantitative descriptions and parameterizations of entrainment and deposition processes are made. In the interpretation of the experimental results, the effects of particle size variation and cohesion of particles are significant. The laboratory results are also compared with previous observations of turbidity in the western basin of Lake Erie and good agreement is obtained. |
