Abstract |
This final report describes an extended field demonstration of three particulate matter (PM) continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) at a coal-fired boiler equipped with a lime slurry scrubber and baghouse for air pollution control. The primary objectives of the field study were to: (1) demonstrate whether the PM CEMS could provide reliable and accurate data over an extended period, (2) evaluate the PM CEMS for durability, data availability, and setup/maintenance requirements, and (3) determine whether the PM CEMS satisfy all the requirements of draft PS-11 and the quality assurance (QA) criteria specified in draft Procedure 2, or determine if changes are needed in the requirements of PS-11 and/or Procedure 2. This report presents the results of the study involving two different PM CEMS technologies (light scatter and beta gauge) at the coal-fired boiler. |
