Abstract |
At the request of the Atomic Energy Commission (Division of Operational Safety and the Division of Naval Reactors), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Eastern Environmental Radiation Facility (EERF), has conducted a limited assessment of the environmental radioactivity levels in the vicinity of the Shippingport Atomic Power Station, Shippingport, Pa. The study was requested to help clarify certain data which have been reported previously. The major points which were addressed are: 1. strontium-90 and iodine-131 levels in milk, 2. strontium-90 levels in soil, and 3. ambient radiation levels as determined using thermoluminescent dosimeters. |
