Abstract | A design for constructing experimental mixed-pollutant exposure profiles that reflect regional O3 and SO2 ambient air quality is described. The profiles were developed using hourly concentration data from monitoring sites in the southeastern United States where slash pine is indigenous, only using sites designated rural or remote. Each site was characterized by concentration frequency of occurrence and duration of concentration values, length of time between episodes, and frequency of co-occurrence. A base profile, a 30-day hour-by-hour concentation regime, was constructed using averaged air quality characteristics from the selected sites. |
