Abstract |
This updated revision of the Air Quality Criteria for Particulate Matter evaluates and assesses new scientific information that has emerged since 1986 and its implications for derivation of health-related criteria for particulate matter National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The criteria (1) summarizes key findings from the 1982 criteria document and first addendum (PB84-156785 (vol. 1), PB84-156793 (vol. 2), PB84-156801 (vol. 3), and PB84-156777 (complete set)), the 1986 second addendum (PB88-246780 and PB88-176574), and a 1989 acid aerosol issue paper (PB91-125864), as they pertain to the derivation of health-related criteria; and (2) provides an updated assessment of newly available information of potential importance for derivation of health criteria for the particulate standard, with major emphasis on evaluation of human health studies published since 1986. |
