Abstract |
Across the United States, there are approximately 1 million underground storage tanks (USTs) in use that store petroleum or hazardous substances. This module defines an UST; determines which USTs are subject to regulation; discusses such topics as deadlines for upgrading tanks and the closure and corrective action requirements; and summarizes the financial responsibility requirements for petroleum USTs. |
