Abstract |
An evaluation is made of three computational algorithms for the solution of the two dimensional, convective dispersion equation. These models are applicable on a micro-scale to the material transport in shear flows such as found near the surface in water bodies subject to wind stress. The three algorithms correspond to the explicit, implicit, and characteristic methods of solving the conventional parabolic differential equation normally used to represent dispersion processes.
