Abstract | The fact sheet outlines the process for obtaining and complying with a Treatability Variance for soil and debris that are contaminated with RCRA hazardous wastes until such time that the Agency promulgates treatment standards for soil and debris. In the interim before the Agency promulgates a third set of treatment standards specifically for soil and debris wastes, there is the presumption that CERCLA response actions involving the placement of soil and debris contaminated with RCRA restricted wastes will utilize a Treatability Variance to comply with the LDRs. Treatment levels outlined in the fact sheet will serve as alternative 'treatment standards'. |
