Abstract | Coke oven emissions are known human carcinogens, classified as weight-of-evidence Group A under the EPA Guidelines for Carcinogen Risk Assessment. Evidence on potential carcinogenicity from animal studies is 'Sufficient,' and the evidence from human studies is 'Sufficient'. The potency factor (F) for coke oven emissions are estimated to be 1.53 (mg/kg/day)(-1), placing it in potency group 2 according to the CAG's methodology for evaluating potential carcinogens. Combining the weight-of-evidence group and the potency group, coke oven emissions are assigned a 'HIGH' hazard ranking. |
