Abstract |
The Blaine Gypsum Groundwater Demonstration Project used gravity-flow recharge wells to augment groundwater supplies in an aquifer heavily pumped for irrigation. The project was one of 13 demonstration projects implemented by the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and local sponsors in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) under the 'High Plains States Groundwater Demonstration Program Act' of 1983. The primary purpose of this act was to advance state-of-the-art groundwater recharge techniques. |
