Abstract |
An overview is provided of studies of the microbial degradation of pesticides in streams, including research to understand the kinetics governing the rates of degradation. Most of these projects have related to the development of mathematical models that predict degradation of a variety of chemicals under a range of stream conditions. Preliminary findings by the authors concerning pesticide degradation rates of aquatic plants and their associated microflora are included. |
