Abstract |
Propazine (CAS No. 139-40-2) was administered to pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats dosed with 0, 30, 100, 300, or 600 mg/kg/day of body weight by oral gavage on days 6-15 of gestation. At 100 mg/kg/day or above body weight gain and food consumption were decreased (not reported if statistically significant). An increased incidence of abortions was noted at 600 mg/kg/day (not reported if statistically significant). The implantation ratios of the experimental groups were not significantly different from controls. At 300 mg/kg/day or above the average weight of the fetuses was significantly reduced. The only compound-related skeletal effect was the increased unossified calcanei at 300 mg/kg/day or above. |
