Abstract | Preliminary results from an oncogenicity study in rats revealed subchronic toxic effects of tributyl phosphate (CAS No. 126-73-8). Groups of rats (50/sex/exposure group, strain not reported) were exposed in the diet at concentrations of 0, 200, 700 and 3000 ppm. A single high-dose female rat died on day 43 of the study. Gross necropsy findings included two 0.6 cm calculi in the urinary bladder which was distended with yellow fluid, dilated renal pelvis with multiple embedded white pinpoint foci, an ocular opacity, and dark red lungs. |
