Abstract |
The excretion of 4-(tert-butyl)benzoic acid (TBB) as an urinary metabolite of 4-(tert-butyl)toluene (TBT) was studied in rats (strain and number of animals not reported) exposed by gavage to dose levels of 0, 25 or 100 mg/kg/day for 5 days. Urine was sampled 24 hr after the last dosing. TBB was identified as a dose-related urinary metabolite of TBT. No TBB was detected in control animals. No 4-(tert-butyl)hippuric acid was detected in any of the animals. |
