Abstract |
Dust suppressant products used to control particulate emissions from unpaved roads are among the technologies evaluated by the Air Pollution Control Technology (APCT) Verification Center, part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program. The critical performance factor for dust suppressant verification is the dust control efficiency (CE). CE was evaluated in terms of total particulate (TP), particulate matter less than or equal to 10 micrometers (mm) in aerodynamic diameter (PM10), and particulate matter less than or equal to 2.5 micrometers (mm) in aerodynamic diameter (PM2.5). SynTech Products Corporation submitted the PetroTac dust suppressant to the APCT Center for testing. The test and quality assurance (QA) plan, prepared in accordance with the Generic Verification Protocol (GVP), addressed the site-specific issues associated with these 1-year verification tests. The 1-year testing was conducted at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, during October 2002, May 2003, and October 2003. This verification report summarizes the results of the 1-year test. The verified CE will be based on all tests at each site, as specified in the test/QA plan. Test conditions were measured and documented. |
