Abstract |
This guidance defines the Pennsylvania Source Water Assessment and Protection Program (SWAPP) in accordance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act and US EPA guidelines. The Source Water Assessment and Protection Program (SWAPP) is required to be submitted to US EPA for approval and describes how Pennsylvania assesses all drinking water sources serving public water systems for the potential for contamination. The assessments are to help 'narrow down' and prioritize the potential sources for contamination to a public drinking water source to support voluntary local, source water protection programs. In addition, the SWAPP details the approach the state will take to support the development of voluntary local, source water protection program. |
