Abstract | The objective of this study was to determine, on a preliminary basis, the economic and technical feasibility of adopting resource recovery as a solid waste management option for the cities of Greensboro, High Point, and Winston Salem, North Carolina. This study entails a market survey of some 50 industrial and institutional consumers. Energy requirements of prospective buyers were matched with demonstrated technologies which resulted in seven resource recovery options. |
