Abstract |
This study evaluated the primary dermal irritation potential of polydimethylsiloxane fluid, 1 cs. Polydimethylsiloxane fluid, 1 cs., was applied ten times over a 14 day period to the intact abdomen of 3 rabbits. The sites were covered by a cloth bandage and observed for irritation. Slight redness was observed at the application sites in 2 of the rabbits on days 2 and/or 3. Moderate redness and marked edema were observed in the other rabbit on day 3, and on days 2 and 3, respectively. All irritation had subsided by day 6 in all exposed animals. |
