Abstract |
The basic background information is presented for the consultation with state and local authorities prior to the designation of air quality control regions as stipulated in the Clean Air Act. Boundaries for the regions are proposed and the factors which are the basis for the proposed boundaries are discussed. Reports for consultation consider these factors: geography; population and economic activity; their prospective growth; probable direction of physical growth; the emission inventory and the location of sources; air quality and pollution transport analysis; regional planning; air pollution control; and governmental jurisdiction. |
