Abstract |
An important aspect of the on-going development of the State Water Plan is the exploration of alternative sources of water supply. The purposes of this report is to determine the feasibility of desalting in Nevada and review the potential for its future applications. Detailed cost information is presented on ten representative Nevada water supply situations. Five of these studies dealt directly with community or area water needs. Of the five remaining sites, three were oriented toward agricultural or wildlife management needs. In addition, one study situation dealt with development of a geothermal resource, and the final study was comprised of a series of evaluations of small desalt plants suitable for user in ranch-type applications. |
