Abstract |
During the period of 1958 to 1965 Montana adopted water quality standards for all waters of the State. The standards consist of three major components: designation of the uses which interstate waters are to serve, specification of narrative and numerical criteria to protect and enhance water quality, and specification of a plan of implementation and enforcement, which includes treatment and control requirements for municipal, industrial, and other wastes discharged to or effecting interstate waters. These components are discussed. |
