Contents Notes | This document presents a sequential approach for the assessment of contaminated sediments. The recommended strategy for assessment is provided in Chapter 3, and subsequent chapters provide supporting details. It provides, in the Sediment Subcommittees'opinion, the best set of currently available, standardized tools for quantifying the impacts of contaminated sediments. This report is one of two documents which present guidance on contaminated sediment issues. The companion report, prepared by the Remedial Options Work Group, examines the options available to remediate contaminated sediments once the nature, severity and extent of impairment has been established. |
