Abstract | The report gives results of testing a novel spray scrubber, the Pentapure (Purity Corporation, Elk Grove Village, Illinois), as part of a program to identify novel, high efficiency, fine particle control devices. Emissions from a gray iron foundry were tested after they had exited from a spray cooling chamber. Their mass median aerodynamic diameter was 0.5 micrometers, as determined with cascade impactor samples. Inlet and outlet samples were taken with cascade impactors and with total mass measuring sampling trains. Total mass efficiency was found. |
