Abstract | The aim was to identify major sources of fugitive dust, quantify their respective contributions to emission inventories of specific Air Quality Control Regions, and estimate means for their control. Most of the fugitive dust controls found are applications of one of three basic techniques--watering, chemical stabilization, or reduction of surface wind speed across exposed sources. Other control mechanisms are paving and traffic control for unpaved roads. Specific work areas which would advance understanding of agricultural fugitive dust problems and lead to better control are discussed. |
