Abstract |
A study was made which disclosed the need for water quality control in the study area. This need was based on the present development and the projected future population and industrial growth. The existing diversion practices and water supply make it impractical for the use of streamflow regulation as a means of water quality control in the study area at this time. Therefore, the report makes no recommendations for the inclusion of storage in Idylwilde Reservoir for the purpose of streamflow regulation for water quality control. Because of the complex nature of the water use practices and water quality problems which exist throughout much of the South Platte River Basin, a comprehensive study of the entire basin is needed to obtain optimum use of water within the basin.
