Abstract |
This decision document presents the selected remedial action for Operable Unit A at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). The major components of the remedial action for OU A are: upgrade the pavement cap by applications of new asphalt and a surface sealant over Zone II of the site (approximately 3.7 acres); install approximately 1,400 linear feet of erosion protection along the perimter of Zone II; Implement, institutional controls that include access restrictions, restrictions on residential use, restrictions on fish and shellfish harvesting, and a Bremerton Naval Complex-wide soil management plan; address the requirements for continued operation, inspection, and maintenance of the pavement cap and erosion protection; and make enhancements to terrestrial and marine habitats. |
