Abstract |
The project is a follow-on to a study which focused primarily on the feasibility of chemical detoxification of soil using FRCs NaPEG Reagents. The fundamental chemistry of the decomposition of PCBs was also investigated in the previous study. The research described herein involved primarily a laboratory study of treatment methods for PCB contaminated soil using the most effective NaPEG Reagents in terms of reactivity and stability. Laboratory tests during the second phase centered on the treatment of PCB contaminated soil obtained from Buffalo, NY and Philadelphia, PA. The effects of variable reaction parameters were examined in detail. |
