Abstract | The test material Hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid (HPA) was accepted from FMC Corporation, New Jersey, USA to evaluate the effects on general reproductive performance when the test material was administered through a complete reproductive cycle. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomised into 6 groups, each containing 24 males and 24 females. The animals were dosed orally by gavage, at a constant dose volume of 10 ml/kg body weight once daily, at the specific dose levels. Both sexes were dosed for 10 weeks prior to mating, and then throughout the mating, gestation and lactation periods. The offspring were monitored for survival and growth up to the age of weaning. |
